When our family left Sicily in 1966 they carried generations of tradition, resilience, and a belief that feeding others is one of life's greatest expressions of love. Our father, a farmer by trade, taught us that the same patience and dedication required to cultivate the land are needed to create exceptional bread. Just as a harvest cannot be rushed, neither can great dough. It must be nurtured, respected, and given time to become something extraordinary.

At home, our mother was the heart of the family. Her kitchen was where everyone gathered, where no one ever left hungry, and where recipes were shared from one generation to the next. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering belief that food brings people together continue to inspire everything we do. Her traditional Sicilian taralli recipe remains a treasured part of our bakery—a reminder of where we came from and the love that shaped us.

As our family grew, so did our dream. Our brother, Sal, became the guiding force behind that vision. With an unwavering work ethic, remarkable business instinct, and an ability to see opportunities long before others did, he helped transform our family's small bakery in the Bronx, into one of the Northeast's premier baking operations. His leadership, knowledge, and commitment to continuous growth challenged all of us to think bigger while never losing sight of the values our parents instilled in us. His vision has shaped not only where Rockland Bakery is today, but who we are as a family and as a company.
